Plows make the rounds across Boston as many welcome the sight of snow
BOSTON - As snow started falling in Boston Sunday night, plows made the rounds around the city to keep the roads and sidewalks clear.
Some welcome the snow
For some Bostonians, the snow was a welcome sight.
"We're just enjoying the picturesque moments in Boston," said Alex in the Public Garden. "It's probably the most beautiful Boston can be, especially in the Public Garden over here with the pond frozen over."
Sunday's storm was quick-hitting with the city expected to get up to 8 inches of snow by the time it stops falling early Monday morning. An arctic blast will then hit, with the WBZ Next Weather Team forecasting four consecutive days with highs in the teens and low 20s.
Those braving the storm Sunday were already starting to notice dangerous conditions.
Harsh weather and dangerous conditions
"Just trying not to fall. I was just walking through the park over there, it's pretty slippery," said Boston resident Greg. "But it seems like there's a good amount of plows out, which is good, so it seems like they're doing everything that they need to, trying to get the roads and sidewalk clear." He said he hopes the snow won't impact his commute to work. "I take the train to work, so I feel like hopefully tomorrow, put the boots on and hopefully it's not too bad."
It could be the harshest week of winter for Massachusetts. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for most of the state into Monday morning.
At Logan Airport, at least 265 cancelations and delays were reported in and out of the airport from the weather.
