Low-flying helicopter to begin radiation detection flights over Boston Marathon route

BOSTON - Radiation sweeps begin Friday ahead of Monday's Boston Marathon.

Specialized helicopters will be flying over the race route and downtown Boston for the next four days. They'll be going about 80 mph and will fly at low altitude.

The sweeps are an annual standard security procedure ahead of the race.
