Andover Man Charged With Pulling Gun On Plow Driver Released On Bail
LAWRENCE (CBS) - He admits he pointed a gun at another driver during a road rage incident, but now, an Andover man has been released from jail.
That freedom came after a contentious daylong court hearing where prosecutors insisted Michael McCullom was still a danger to the community because he pulled an unloaded gun on Paul Connelly, a snowplow driver in Andover. He allegedly pointed the weapon at Connelly's head.
Prosecutor Lindsay Nasson says McCullom "pointed the gun at him with that scope or that laser right at his eyes."
Defense lawyer William Diadamo had a different take insisting "His intent was to protect himself. He put it in his pocket, it's not like he got out of the car brandishing the weapon."
The judge said the confrontation was troubling and concerning but released McCullom on $2,000 bail ordering him to stay away from Connelly and firearms. He's due back in court in February.
