Woman shot and killed in Essex, marking 4th homicide in less than 2 weeks
Baltimore County police are investigating after a woman was shot and killed early Sunday in Essex, Maryland, the fourth person killed in the area in less than two weeks.
Officers responded around 2 a.m. to the 800 block of Woodrow Avenue, where 39-year-old Lanier Harmon was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to The Baltimore Banner, the shooting happened on a road that is lined with multistory waterfront homes and modest mobile homes. Brewers Landing Bar and Grill is also located along the road.
The woman was the fourth person killed in shootings in Essex within two weeks.
On August 10, at approximately 11:30 a.m., 19-year-olds Izick Aminartey and Donielle Mack were killed in a shooting on Banyan Woods Court.
Police later arrested 22-year-old Deandre Antwone Neal after he turned himself in.
That same day, 17-year-old Roman Wright was shot and killed inside a vehicle about a mile away in Essex. Police arrested a 15-year-old shortly after the shooting and took 17-year-old Messiah Edwards into custody the next day following a barricade situation in Middle River. Both teens are facing adult charges.
