Pedestrian dies after falling under MTA bus in downtown Baltimore, police say
A pedestrian died after falling under and being struck by a Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) bus in downtown Baltimore Tuesday afternoon, according to police.
Officers responded around 2:40 p.m. to the 100 block of West Fayette Street where they say a 36-year-old man fell under the bus and was struck. The man was taken to the hospital where he died, according to police.

MTA bus incidents within past year
There have been several incidents involving MTA buses within the past 12 months in Baltimore.
In December 2024, a 61-year-old man was arrested in a shooting that left 30-year-old William Womack wounded on an MTA bus in downtown Baltimore. He was taken to the hospital where he died.
Police later arrested James Richburg and charged him with first-degree murder.
In July 2024, 14-year-old Cortez Lemon died after he was stabbed on an MTA bus in Baltimore.
Baltimore Police said Cortez was stabbed multiple times after getting into an argument on the bus with 18-year-old Brandon Adams Jr. Cortez ran off the bus and collapsed in front of a nearby liquor store.
"He was smart, he was God-fearing, he was an athlete," said Angel White, Cortez's mother. "He was everything to us."
Then, in June 2024, two fetuses were found on an MTA bus in East Baltimore over the weekend, according to Baltimore Police.
