UTD professor files federal lawsuit against school
On May 1, 2024, there was a pro-Palestinian protest on the campus of UT Dallas. Students had set up an encampment on university grounds when the school asked law enforcement to clear the area.
Ali Asgar Alibha says he was walking by the protest when he was wrongfully arrested that day. Despite a grand jury clearing him of all charges, his attorney says Alibha has faced retaliation from the school and has to get permission to be on campus.
