North Texas holds steady under strong cap as cooler air moves in

North Texas stayed quiet Tuesday night as a strong cap kept storms from developing, aside from one brief post‑frontal shower in East Dallas that quickly fizzled in cooler air. Temperatures sit in the low 70s with winds shifting to the northwest, setting up a cooler start Wednesday in the upper 50s. Cloud cover will linger through much of the day, with partly sunny skies and highs only reaching the mid‑70s.
