Grand Prairie man recounts being shot by police after dispatch error sent officers to wrong home
A Grand Prairie man was shot in the leg by police after officers mistakenly arrived at his residence due to a 911 dispatch system error. Thomas Simpson told CBS News Texas he was awakened by barking dogs around 1:30 a.m. and believed burglars were outside. He opened his garage door armed, but immediately dropped his weapon upon seeing police badges — and was shot anyway.
