Google and SpaceX explore launching data centers into orbit
Google and SpaceX are in talks to build orbital data centers, according to the Wall Street Journal, with Elon Musk calling space‑based computing the next step for SpaceX. Google is also speaking with other launch companies and plans to send up prototype satellites next year as part of Project Suncatcher, its moonshot effort to test data‑processing hardware in space.
