Dallas-based company announces "dire wolves" birth

Colossal Biosciences said these three young "dire wolves" were born in October after gene editing helped modify the traits of existing animals. The team took DNA from a 13,000-year-old tooth and a 72,000-year-old skull to create healthy dire wolf puppies. The animal had previously been extinct for more than 12,000 years.
