A truck driver was caught trying to smuggle 39 live pythons from Texas into Mexico, leading to fines, a vehicle seizure and an ongoing federal investigation.
More than a dozen types of pythons and over 30 other snakes, including a ghost Aztec jungle boa, were found packed in the truck.
A 15-foot reticulated python caused panic in a Garland neighborhood by trapping a man on top of his truck before animal control officers safely captured it.
The 36-year-old went missing after she went to buy medicine for her sick child, police said, prompting relatives to launch a search.
When villagers cut open the python's stomach, "Farida's head was immediately visible," an official said.
