WYLIE (CBSDFW.COM) - When Yvonne Mora's ceiling finally caved in from hail damage, insulation rained down onto her kitchen.

"It looks like cotton candy," she said staring the pile of pink covering her countertop. But the real damage is visible overhead. Monday's softball size hail pierced Mora's roof. With clouds threatening to send rain flooding in, she rushed to find someone to help cover the holes.

"We're fortunate we had someone who could come over quick enough," she said. Other neighbors spent their day searching. "They couldn't get anyone," she said.
Roofer Curtis Keown says his phone is blowing up.

"They sound desperate. Please. Come help me. We've got holes in our roofs," he said.

He said roofers are flooding in from out of state to meet the high demand. "Everywhere you go, that's all you see – roofers," he said.
It's getting supplies that's a challenge. "Home Depot and Lowe are just completely sold out of any kind of materials," he said. Even he's in awe at the size of some of the holes he's patching.

"I'd have to say somewhere close to grapefruit size," he said. "This is the biggest hail I think I've ever seen – by far."

Mora said, neighbors stepped in matching homeowners in need with recommended contractors. "There's been a lot of communication and teamwork going on," she said.

By evening, every home in her neighborhood appeared covered.
