Weekend Mostly a Washout for North Texas

Heavy rain you see on the radar below will stay to our south tonight.  But get ready for a soaking tomorrow.  Heaviest rain will in DFW area will fall Saturday afternoon thru Sunday morning. From about Saturday afternoon thru Sunday morning it will be a washout.  Sunday afternoon will dry out and we will salvage a few hours of dry weather before sundown Sunday evening.

How much rain will we see?  1" to 3" for just about everybody with some areas seeing 4" or even more.  Here is our CBS 11 High Resolution Forecast Model's rainfall estimate for this weekend thru Sunday morning.

Be sure to get the latest on CBS 11 NEWS AT 4, 5, 6 and 10pm.  Flooding doesn't look to be a huge issue as this rain will fall over a 24 to 36 hour period.  But some streams and creeks could over flow.

FORECAST:

THIS EVENING… Dreary weather will continue with spotty showers here in the metro area.  Heavier rain well south of I-20 with a few thunderstorms in southern sections of North Texas toward Waco.   Temps stay in the 40s.
TONIGHT… Spotty showers continue with temps holding in the mid 40s.
SATURDAY… Cloudy with spotty rain in the morning, then coverage of the rain increasing during the day.  Heavy rain will be likely Saturday afternoon thru Saturday night.  This is the time frame where localized flooding could be a concern.  Widespread 2" to 3" will be possible with localized areas seeing more than that.  Temps stay in 40s thru the day with east winds at 5-15 mph.
SATURDAY NIGHT… Showers and a few thunderstorms with us thru the night into Sunday morning.  Temps stay in the 40s.

SUNDAY… Showers and thudnerstorms with us thru the morning and possibly into the early afternoon before shifting east.  Depending on when the rain ends temps will probably warm into the mid 60s with SW winds kicking in.
MONDAY AND TUESDAY… Partly sunny and warmer with highs near 80 degrees.
