Week Ahead: February Temperatures

Temperatures have stayed in the 40's since last night, gusty north winds and clouds have dominated the day though some sunshine finally has poked through in the later afternoon.

Weather Ahead: Lots of clouds but little rain, staying cool all week. There has been NO wintery precipitation reported at DFW Airport so far this season. None is expected this week either.

TONIGHT: Mostly Cloudy, Low: 35, Winds N 5-10

Less wind and some limited clearing. There'll be enough wind and cloudy cover to keep temperatures above freezing in the urban and suburban areas.

MONDAY: Mostly Cloudy, High: 54, Winds NE 5-10

Not much improvements in regards to temperatures but at least it won't be as much wind. Clouds build in as the day wears on. Overnight lows will stay in the 40's.

TUESDAY: Cloudy, High: 58, Winds Var -5 turning North by afternoon

A weak cold front is coming through in the afternoon, turning the winds to the north and keep the skies cloudy. The cloud cover will continue overnight, this will keep lows in the upper 30's by Wednesday morning.

WEDNESDAY: Becoming Partly Cloudy, High: 54, Winds N 10-20

THURSDAY: We'll have clouds build in and rain chances show up by end of day. Right now we keep the rain chances low for the day but pick them up for the evening. Highs will again stay in the 50's.

FRIDAY: At least for right now this looks like the best chance of rain for the work week. Highs stay in the 50's, precipitation chances are around 40%.

HPC has backed off the rain chances for THU/FRI, below you see their forecast for total rainfall over the next 5 days:

This is a rain forecast that might bounce around some the next 24 hours, a rather convoluted upper air storm pattern is taking shape off the coast of California. This is the storm system expected to affect us by the end of week. The track and timing of the system is of course driving the rain chances.

NEXT WEEKEND

Both days are looking dry and a little warmer. Highs in the upper 50's on Saturday and in the low 60's on Sunday.
