Waco's 100 degree weather continues...

Today, Monday, Sept. 26th, was another 100 degree day in Waco.  This is the 89th time this year with highs in the 100s!  The previous record at Waco for the most 100 degree days in a year was 63 set in 1980.  This is also the 10th time this month where Waco has made it to 100 degrees.

DFW has had 70 days this year with temperatures in the 100s.  That beat the old record of 69 set in 1980.

You may be asking why it was so hot in Waco and not as hot in Dallas/Fort Worth.  There is a front stalled out south of the metroplex.  Here is a map of what temperatures looked like at 4pm on Monday.  You can see how hot it is south of the front.  There is a small chance of a few isolated storms along that front tonight, but it is a small chance.  And it doesn't appear that if a storm were to form it would come anywhere close to Dallas/Fort Worth.
