The Day the Streak Died

THE END OF THE STREAK
The streak of 100+ degree highs comes to an end today! The high temperature at DFW was 98, which is a few degrees cooler than this time on any other day we have seen recently. Our streak of 18 consecutive days at or above 100 degrees ends, tying the 7th place spot for longest 100+ high temperatures streak.

FOR THE NEXT FEW DAYS
For the next few days into Saturday, the high temperature will hover close to 100 degrees, which is a little bit cooler than the highs North Texas has been experiencing over the majority of the summer. Early into next week, temperatures jump back to the lower 100's and we may see another streak of 100+ degree weather.

RAIN CHANCE?
As for rain chances, a small upper level disturbance is moving its way close to North Texas Thursday. This will yield a small chance of rain, around 10%, for Thursday thru Saturday. These showers will be very spotty and not be heavy rain producers, though will provide some brief relief from the heat.
