The Colony Presents, American Heroes: A Salute To Veterans

Veterans Day is Friday November 11th, but one day doesn't seem like enough to honor the men and women that serve and have served our country in the military.

The Colony presents American Heroes - A Salute to Veterans this Saturday at The Colony Five Star Complex starting at 8 am.

"It's a entire day of family activities, we start off in the morning at 8:00 a.m. with a 5K and 10K run" said The Colony Recreation Manager David Swain.

There are event throughout the day including a Heroes Hut for the kids to play, and a benefit silent auction.

"The two organizations that our silent auction benefits is 22 Kill and The American Legion has a benefit as well called Operation Comfort Warrior" said The Colony Special Events Coordinator Lindsey Stansell.

The day will culminate with Tanya Tucker in concert at 6:30 pm followed by the only Veterans Day fireworks show in Dallas-Fort Worth.

Admission and parking is free all day for the American Heroes - A Salute to Veterans celebration.

"We just want people to come out and enjoy themselves and have an opportunity to recognize their family members who are veterans or themselves if they're veterans" Swain added.
