Summer in September

Hope you are having a great last-of-summer weekend (the Fall equinox in on Thursday). A fine Saturday morning turns into a (somewhat) stormy afternoon. Highs will again be in the 90's, not quite as hot as yesterday (96° and the hottest day since August 12th!) but the humidity will be around still.

Lots of great festivals and events this weekend. If you are heading to the biggest wine festival in the southwest this weekend you might have to jump under a tent to avoid an afternoon storm. We are not expecting severe weather but could get some gusty winds:

If you are heading to the Rangers games tonight if there any storms around they should quickly die out as the game goes on:

The best chance of rain the entire weekend will actually be in the early morning hours tomorrow. We'll be watching a complex of storms dive out of NW Oklahoma and make a run toward the Red River. The best chance for some brief heavy rain and lightning will be along the Red River counties:

Later on Sunday afternoon we'll have a few pop-up storms form, mostly south of the Metroplex.

It'll be hot and humid tomorrow as well but just wait, it gets even warmer. On Monday and Tuesday we'll have high pressure parked right overhead. This means the return to dry weather and hot weather. We'll be in the upper 90's with a feel-like temperature over a hundred both days.
