STORMS POSSIBLE THIS EVENING AND OVERNIGHT TONIGHT…
This area outlined with a green circle is the area of greatest concern for severe weather this afternoon. Storms are already starting to bubble up near Graham and Jacksboro and also back toward the panhandle.
Here's a close up few with the threats for this afternoon and evening.
So areas north and west of DFW like Jacksboro, Mineral Wells, Eastland, Bowie, Gainesville and Wichita Falls are the areas to watch for possible strong to severe storms this afternoon. As we move into the evening the chance of storms will be increasing across the metroplex and that will continue into the night tonight. Overnight there will be a small severe threat with hail and wind the main concern. Most storms though will be below severe limits overnight, but some areas will have a stormy night. Not everyone will see the storms though. The favored area overnight will be the northern two rows of counties in North Texas. Basically those areas north of Dallas and Fort Worth will have the best chance of seeing storms this evening and overnight.
TONIGHT...
Here is the rain chance map for This Evening and Overnight.
TOMORROW…
There will be lingering rain and storms for the morning commute tomorrow. Temperatures will be in the 70s. Clouds will break apart thru the day and it will be a hot day with highs in the upper 90s for our Wednesday. I can't rule out a few more spotty storms Wednesday afternoon, but most areas will stay dry Wednesday afternoon into Wednesday night.
THURSDAY…
A lull in activity as temperatures warm into the upper 90s with sunny skies.
HERE COMES A DECENT COLD FRONT FRIDAY INTO SATURDAY… at least decent for this time of year.
A cold front will slide into the area on Friday. Showers and thunderstorms look to be likely during the day Friday into Friday night and even into Saturday. The cold front will stall over North Texas Friday night into Saturday. This means coverage could be pushing 40% to 50% at times Friday night into Saturday. Temperatures will also be cooler with the cloud cover and rain around. Highs on Friday will still be warm and muggy in the mid 90s. But on Saturday we may barely make it into the low 90s depending on how extensive the cloud cover is and the rain coverage.
SUNDAY…
Lingering rain chances will continue into Sunday. Most of the activity will be to the south but a few may linger around the metroplex. Temperatures will be slightly below average for this time of year with highs in the mid to low 90s. 97 is our average high for this time of year.
MONDAY AND TUESDAY…
Dry weather and relatively comfortable temperatures with highs in the mid 90s and humidity levels not too high.
