Thick Fog Tonight, Storms Wednesday

A DENSE FOG ADVISORY is in effect for all of north Texas from 2am to 10am. With the wet ground, clearing skies, high humidity and light winds visibility will fall below 1/4 mile in many areas, especially around water bodies and standing water:

Clouds stuck around just about all day, highs stayed in the 60's. Skies are clearing some this evening. With the wet soils and high humidity we'll likely have some fog around tomorrow morning as the winds diminish.

I expect a mostly cloudy day for the first 3/4's of it. With the mild start and the south winds we'll still get around 80° for a high:

All eyes turn to the Pacific NW where a massive upper level disturbance is winding up and ready to sweep over the country over the next five days:

Its going to bring rain on the west coast, high wind across the desert southwest and blizzard conditions to the Northern Rockies. You can see heavy snow forecast for the Montana down to Colorado:

As the system pulls out in the Central Plains this system will produce severe weather and heavy rains:

Rain chances start to pick up on Tuesday afternoon and evening as moisture starts to increase in the atmosphere. We could have severe weather here on Wednesday along with very strong winds. A cold front will sweep across Wednesday night bringing the rain to an end. Here is how our rain chances play out through this event:

We are four nights out so keep that in mind when looking at this forecast. Right now it appears the rain should be east of the metro area and skies clearing on Halloween night. Temperatures will be falling quickly on a brisk northwest wind.
