St. Patrick's Parade Organizers Hopes Cabin Fever Produces Large Crowds
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – Bad weather delayed crews from prepping the Saint Patrick's day parade route on Greenville Avenue, but they finally got the work started at about 7 pm Friday night.
Event organizer Mauricio Navarro said, "Right now with a little bit of mist we are going to keep working overnight."
The crews are promising to have everything ready to go by the time the sun comes up on Saturday.
This year organizers are hoping to break their own record attendance. Last year 65, 000 people showed up. Now, they're looking to double that.
Navarro added, "We're expecting cabin fever to strike and we're looking to having 120, 000 people here tomorrow."
This year for the first time the parade will feature a tailgating zone and other family friendly areas.
