Proceeds From Luxury Home Sale To Benefit Rangers Foundation
COLLEYVILLE (CBSDFW.COM) - The Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation has launched an unusual fundraising project that involves the building and selling a luxury North Texas home.
The project involves the construction of a home in Colleyville which would them give the proceeds of the sale to the foundation.
Chuck Cole, president of Cole Luxury Homes, explained that the Tudor style isn't run of the mill. "It's a 5,900 square foot, 2-story home. [It has] four bedrooms, four and a half baths, [a] four-car garage, wine room, formal game room…"
Kids with the Miracle League Network were on hand for the kickoff event, which included a ball throw to professional Joe Nathan. "I'm just honored to come here and be obviously a very tiny part of this project," the Texas Rangers pitcher said.
According to the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation website, the non-profit is "dedicated to improving the lies of children in need," with kids health initiatives, baseball and education programs, and funding to help children in crisis.
"Basically, this is for the kids -- that's why we're doing it," Cole stressed. "They are the beneficiaries of this house. It will last for generations to come."
The 'Grand Slam' project home will sit on a ½ acre lot and also include a library, outdoor living area with kitchen, sunken courtyard, and master retreat with a bonus room.
Builders say it will take roughly nine months to complete the home.
