Potential For Heavy Rain & Flooding

After a dry past several days, rain is likely later Tuesday evening into Wednesday.  Widespread rain will develop over North Texas and the rainfall amounts are forecast to be quite impressive.

Widespread areas of 1-3" of rain over North Texas starting tonight and going thru Wednesday night.  This could lead to some patches of flooding, especially in the traditional lower-lying areas or poor drainage areas.

This will mainly be a rain event, with a few thunderstorms thrown in as well...especially south of I-20.  The greatest threat for severe weather will be in Central and Southeast Texas overnight tonight into Wednesday.  Some storms capable of large hail could approach the region from Hillsboro to Palestine early Wednesday morning.
