FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - Fort Worth's historic Stockyards are getting a facelift, and the city is expected to unveil details of the redevelopment project on Tuesday. But there are concerns about what the Stockyards will look like when the project is complete.

The Stockyards Heritage Group posted a video to YouTube, showing facts about the Fort Worth landmark and trying to clear up some myths about the redevelopment project.

The city said that there will continue to be cattle and horses in the Stockyards, and a rodeo. But missing from the video is the now iconic gateway to the Stockyards at Main Street and Exchange Avenue. It is not a part of the project and will likely not be changed. This had been a fear for some people.

The goal of the redevelopment plan is to re-energize the heart of Cowtown by adding more residential spaces, shopping areas, offices and a hotel. But some people worry that the Stockyards will lose its historic look and feel -- along with its charm -- in the process.

City leaders have promised that all future plans will match the current western theme.

The proposed plans for the $175 million redevelopment project will be unveiled at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hickman family, which owns most of the Stockyards land, is partnering with a California company on the project.
