Not As Chilly Tonight, Warm Weather Ahead

We'll have just enough of a south wind tonight to keep temperatures out of the frost range overnight. We had some patchy frost this morning, the official low at DFW was 39°, the first morning in the 30's this fall. Lows right at 33 or 34 degrees were reported this morning across wide sections of North Texas outside the metroplex: Gainesville, Greenville, Bowie, Denton and McKinney just to name a few.

SUNDAY LOOKING NICE

A few clouds mid-day but other than that a great Sunday in store for us. Lows should be in the mid-40's in the metro area, highs are going to get into the low 70's with a south wind at 5-10mph. Great weather. Sunday night temperatures will fall down to upper 40's.

NO TRICK ALL TREAT

Halloween Monday is looking good for the costumes. Highs that day should reach into the mid-70's with mostly sunny skies. That evening temperatures will fall across the upper 60's. By Tuesday morning we'll have lows in the low 50's.

BREEZY AND WARM

Highs on Tuesday and Wednesday will get into the upper 70's. A very brisk south wind will get a little gusty by Tuesday afternoon and stay windy through Wednesday.  A cold front is moving in from the northwest late Wednesday, it will turn winds to the northwest and cool us down.

NEXT RAIN CHANCE: LATE WEDNESDAY OR THURSDAY

We are expecting this cold front to bring some rain/storms here by Wednesday evening and Thursday morning. Right now we put the chances a little on the high side, around 30-40%. Thursday we'll have much cooler temperatures with highs in the low 60's. We'll dry out by weekend with temperatures back in the 70's. Below you can see the differences between two of our favorite long-range models in regards to the rain chances Wednesday late/ Thursday. The GFS is on the left, the European model on the right. Significant differences are typical this far out from the the event, we'll likely be adjusting the forecast as we draw closer.
