Nippert Doesn't Get Contract From Rangers
Arlington (Sports Network) - The Texas Rangers declined to offer a tender contract to right-handed pitcher Dustin Nippert.
Nippert, who is now a free agent, finished with a 4-5 record along with a 4.29 earned-run average in 38 games this past season, including two spot starts. He notched at least one strikeout in 18 straight relief appearances, which is the second-longest streak of its kind in one season in club history.
Texas lost to San Francisco in the World Series earlier this autumn.
