Two Southlake officers injured in separate crashes during response to call
Two officers are injured after separate crashes in Southlake Monday afternoon.
The incident began with an officer motorcycle crash in the area of 300 Southlake Boulevard near Olivia Court around 2:15 p.m., according to Southlake DPS.
The initial investigation revealed that the motorcycle officer and another officer in a police SUV were called to a reported fight on Southlake Blvd. when a work truck pulled in front of the police motorcycle.
The police SUV was involved in a crash near the intersection of E. Southlake Blvd. and Byron Nelson when a vehicle failed to yield the right of way and pulled out in front of the police SUV.
Southlake police said both officers had the emergency lights and sirens activated at the time.
From the CBS News Texas chopper, an officer's motorcycle was seen on the road, lying on its side with parts of the motorcycle broken off and lying in the road.
The motorcycle officer was taken to Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Grapevine with non-life-threatening injuries. The second officer was treated and released ith minor injuries.
