Man Hospitalized After Causing 2 Hit-And-Run Accidents

THE COLONY (CBSDFW.COM) - A 31-year-old man was hospitalized Tuesday after causing two hit-and-run accidents and driving his vehicle into a light pole.

The suspect was driving a 2010 Ford Fusion with expired dealer tags down Farm-to-Market Road 423, which is Main Street in The Colony, when he caused an accident.

He fled the scene, but slammed into a Nissan car about a mile from where the first accident occurred, said Sgt. Edward Hall with The Colony Police Department. He then lost control of his car and drove into a light pole.

"He was going 80 miles-per-hour, at least 80 miles-per-hour," said witness Mitchell Russell. "He hit a Nissan so hard into the other lane on the other side of the road. He lost control, hit a pole and ran down a ditch."

Hall said none of the victims were hurt. The suspect was taken to a nearby hospital and a sobriety test will be performed as soon as possible. His name has not been released.
