DALLAS(CBSDFW.COM) - The Dallas FBI and Dallas Police Department say "Fly Bandits" may be responsible for up to five recent robberies at mobile phone stores and they are still on the loose.
They're called "Fly Bandits" because sometimes one of the suspects wears a shirt that says, "Born Fly."
In most instances, two armed suspects enter the business and quickly force the store employees to lie on the floor. One suspect holds the employees at gunpoint, while the other takes money and merchandise. To date, no one has been physically injured during the robberies, but the subjects' actions are aggressive.
Investigators have identified a possible getaway vehicle driven by a third suspect. It is described as a
2013 - 2015 black Nissan Altima SL with a sunroof and may have paper tags.
The suspects are described as black males, approximately 22- 25 years old. Both suspects wear various hats, sunglasses and gloves, and favor clothing with logos from an array of brands. Suspect #1 is approximately 6'2" tall, 190 pounds, carries a black backpack. Suspect #2 is approximately 5'7", 180 pounds, and typically wears a blue long sleeved undershirt or brown plaid long sleeved shirt.
The suspects are considered armed and dangerous.
Anyone with information is urged to call the Dallas FBI at 972-559-5000 or the North Texas Crime Stoppers tipline at 1-877-373-TIPS (8477). A reward of up to $5,000 may be available for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the suspects.
