DALLAS (CBS 11 NEWS) - A pregnant North Texas mother murdered. Now, her family says they have proof Dallas police mishandled a call for help.

Since March the family of D'Lisa Kelley has accused the Dallas Police Department of not handling the woman's disappearance with urgency. Monday night a family spokesperson said their proof of negligence are the recorded 911 conversations between Kelley's grandmother, a police dispatcher, and a sergeant.

On one of the 911 calls Kelley's grandmother is heard saying, "She was screaming for her life. Somebody was beating her and we don't know who has her."

Panic set in when a family member got a call on March 7 from D'Lisa's phone. D'Lisa's grandmother called 911 fearing for her granddaughter's safety, but police didn't send anyone to the home to take a report.

It was two days before a missing persons report was filed.

In another police dispatch recording, obtained by the family and given to CBS 11 News, you can hear the sergeant's reaction when told D'Lisa was missing, pregnant, and possibly in trouble. He said, "Well, sounds like she's missing before. That's how she got in that situation."

Listening to the tape, Kelley family spokesperson Dominique Alexander said, "Just to hear his nonchalant way and to discredit the granddaughter and her pregnancy."

D'Lisa was found dead in an abandoned building seven days after her grandmother received the terrifying call.

Sergeant Kevin Wasnell, the person who oversees the 911 center and is heard on the tape, was placed on leave for five days back in March. Alexander believes the Sergeant should have been fired.

The Kelley family plans to hold a news conference on November 18.

CBS 11 News did ask for a response from Dallas police but have not heard back.
