FALL LIKE WEATHER ON THE WAY...

FEELING FALL LIKE TOMORROW…

It was nice seeing a few spotty showers moving thru the area this morning and this afternoon.  Most of the rain has stayed north of I-20.  The cloud cover also helped hold temperatures in the 90s.  But you don't have to go to far to find temps in the 80s and even 70s.  There is a cold front that is approaching the Red River as of 3pm.  This front will slide southward this evening and pass thru Dallas/Fort Worth.  Behind this front winds will get rather gusty out of the northeast up to 20 mph.  This northeast wind will usher in some cooler air tonight and tomorrow.  Lows tonight will drop into the mid 60s and highs tomorrow will be in the low 80s.

ISOLATED SHOWERS CONTINUE…

The front will move south of DFW overnight, but weak upper level disturbances will move over North Texas tomorrow and Friday morning.  This will result in isolated showers and maybe an isolated thunderstorm thru tonight, tomorrow and then again Friday morning.  Winds will start to shift to the southeast on Friday and warm things back up as we head into the weekend.  Friday's highs will be in the mid to upper 80s.  We'll be back in the 90s this weekend.

WESTERLY FLOW ALOFT…

The upper level flow pattern looks to favor more westerly flow aloft.  This is different front the upper ridging we saw all summer.  Basically, the upper level flow of air will be moving from west to east across the Central Part of the country.  This will allow for weak disturbances to continue to track over the Rockies into the Plains and then to the East.  None of these disturbances look terribly strong, so there is no one day that looks like a slam dunk for rain.  But as we head into the first part of next week we will continue to see some rain chances and temperatures not as hot with highs in the upper 80s and low 90s which is just about average if not slightly above for this time of year.
