Garland Woman Named Donald Trump's New National Spokesperson

GARLAND (CBSDFW.COM) - Donald Trump names Garland Tea Party leader Katrina Pierson as his new national spokeswoman.

"Katrina is a great addition to our team as we continue to expand throughout the country. Katrina understands the need for real change in Washington, D.C. and the importance of competence in the next election," said Trump in a written statement.

Pierson's political track record includes challenging Congressman Pete Sessions in the 2014 election. She also founded the Garland Tea Party and served as a Steering Committee member for the Dallas Tea Party.

"I am honored to officially join the Donald J. Trump for President Campaign. Mr. Trump is a proven leader with unparalleled capabilities and successes. He has consistently demonstrated he is the only one who can Make America Great Again and I am proud to help spread his message," said Pierson in a written statement.

Pierson will be present at Trump's next Texas rally this Saturday in Beaumont, which is expected to draw thousands of people.
