Rain chances on the rise for North Texas this week
It has been a beautiful Monday across North Texas.
Once the sunsets at 6:43 p.m., temperatures will dip into the 70s with a mild wind from the southeast around 5 mph. Most of the area will just see clouds, but counties west of I-35 have a 10-30% chance of rain into Tuesday morning.
Tuesday morning will be mild; lows across the area will range from the upper 50s to the low 60s. However, temperatures will climb throughout the day, and highs will reach into the low 80s in the afternoon. Expect clouds in the sky and winds from the southeast around 5 to 10 mph.
More rain is in the forecast this week as an upper-level low-pressure system continues to shift into our area.
A subtropical jet will also pump sufficient moisture into the region by the end of the week. This will increase the chance of showers and storms.
Will it rain on Halloween?
Forecast models are timing the biggest rain event on Friday; however, models are inconsistent on Saturday, which is Halloween.
As of now, rain does look possible for trick-or-treaters, but it's too early to say if Halloween will be a washout or spook-tacular. Stay tuned because the forecast models are subject to change.
