Man accused of fatally stabbing woman in downtown Dallas, police say

Dallas Police say a man was arrested after a deadly stabbing unfolded in the downtown area late Friday night.

DPD said officers responded to a crisis intervention team call along the 2300 block of North Akard Street around 11 p.m. They found a woman, and she was transported to a hospital, where she later died.

The department said it has now charged 54-year-old Jimmy Spurger Jr. with murder. The investigation remains ongoing.
