Dallas Police Investigate Deadly Home Invasion

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Police in Dallas are investigating the murder of a woman in her own home. Officials explained that 34-year-old Roselia Paz-Perez was found dead inside of her house along Sedgemoor Avenue, located off of Interstate-35E in south Dallas, after a reported home invasion on Tuesday afternoon.

The victim's body was found by her husband when he arrived home at about 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. He immediately contacted the police. Officers discovered Paz-Perez shot to death inside of the house. Authorities confirmed that there were three other robberies in this area on Monday, but it is not known if any of those cases are related to the murder.

There have been no arrests so far, but there is a key piece of evidence that police hope can lead them to a suspect.

Surveillance video released by the Dallas Police Department shows a dark-colored sedan driving away from the scene.

Neighbors who knew Paz-Perez were shocked to find out about what had happened. However, they also feel uneasy, because the gunman has not been caught. "I'm scared," said neighbor Maria Perez. "I got friends across the street, but if somebody breaks into the house, I'm by myself."

Anyone who might have information about a possible suspect, or the car seen in that surveillance video, is urged to contact the Dallas Police Department immediately.
