Hot weather continues in North Texas, with triple-digit highs in the extended forecast

North Texas is warm once again on Thursday morning, with temperatures starting out in the 70s and 80s.

The skies may be hazy after sunrise to start the morning due to a mix of wildfire smoke moving in from the Pacific Northwest and some Saharan dust that moved in this week. The afternoon high will reach 101, far shy of the record high of 109. Feels-like temperatures expected to stay in the low 100s. 

Humidity will rise over the next few days, raising the feels-like temperatures to 106.

North Texas will continue to stay mostly dry into the weekend. There are very slim rain chances for counties well to the east of the Metroplex. 

If temperatures reach 100 on Thursday, it will be the 14th time it has happened this year. The extended forecast shows triple digits are expected for at least the next week. If that holds, we'll have no problem reaching the average of 20 days of triple-digit heat for the year.
