Cooler and windy weather returns.

**TORNADO WATCH CANCELLED FOR NORTH TEXAS**

STORMS STAY EAST THIS EVENING… COOLER WEATHER ARRIVES…

The cold front has pushed through Dallas/Fort Worth this afternoon.  Storms continue in East Texas where the threat for tornadoes continues.  There will be no more storms or rain in the DFW Metro area this evening.  Instead, the cooler weather will arrive.  Winds have already turned breezy out of the northwest up to 25 mph.  And temperatures are dropping into the 60s.  This drop in temps will continue this evening as NW winds remain breezy tonight.  Once the sun goes down temperatures will fall into the 50s by 9pm in most locations with that strong breeze blowing.  Tomorrow morning we will wake up with temperatures in the mid to low 40s and still a strong NW breeze.  So it will feel like it is in the 30s tomorrow morning with the wind.

SUNNY AND COOL Tomorrow with temperatures starting in the 40s and only warming to near 60 degrees.  Winds will stay breezy throughout the day and then lesson in the evening.

TOMORROW NIGHT… temperatures will drop into the upper 30s in Dallas/Fort Worth with a freeze possible along the Red River and NW sections of North Texas.  Winds will become light and with clear skies, the conditions will be perfect for a cold night.

THURSDAY... Sunny and pleasant with a high of 65.
FRIDAY… A pretty fast recovery from the cooler weather as temperatures will warm to near 70 degrees.  Winds will increase out of the south on Friday and the winds really pick up this weekend.

SATURDAY… Winds gusting to 30+mph on Saturday as a strong area of Low pressure develops in the Northern Plains.  This strong south wind will boast temperatures into the mid to upper 70s on Saturday.

SUNDAY…
Warm and Windy!  Temperatures will likely climb into the 80s!  Winds will be strong though out of the southwest.  85 is the record high for Sunday and there is a chance we could make it to 85 on Sunday.

MONDAY… A storm system will move thru Texas and bring us another rain chance, possibly some thunderstorms.

WORST ALASKAN STORM ON RECORD?

A very large storm is heading toward Nome, Alaska.  This storm has sustained winds of 80 mph.  Nome has been keeping records for over 113 years and the projection is that this will be one of the worst storms ever.  The most comparable storm was in 1974.  This storm will create waves 15 to 25 feet at the coast and offshore waves as high as 40 feet.  Massive beach erosion and inundation of barrier islands will be possible.  Freezing spray from the ocean will cause major problems along the coast.  And inland, record snow will be possible.  There is a lack of sea ice in the Bearing Sea and that is one of the factors allowing this storm to be so intense.  Ice cover limits the moisture available for storms.
