Blowing Dust In West Texas Moving Into North Texas
Here is a snapshot from around 430pm of the visible Satellite. I have labeled the area of blowing dust. It is the milky smooth looking area on the visible image. This is behind the Pacific Cold Front where winds as of 5pm were still gusting to 50 mph. Visibility has been reduced to 4 miles in Wichita Falls because of the blowing dust. I do expect some of that dust to move into areas like Jack, Montague, Wise, Palo Pinto, and Parker Counties later this evening. But as the sun goes down, winds won't be as strong so that may limit the dust from making it to the Metroplex. But we still could smell dust and dirt in the air here in the metro later this evening once the front comes thru DFW.
