Another Taste of Fall

A taste of Fall today thanks to another cold front that has already worked its way through most of North Texas this morning and will kick up north winds at 10-20 mph throughout the day.  An isolated shower or storm is possible behind the front.  Here's a radar snapshot taken this morning showing a weak, broken line of showers pressing southward.  A splash and dash shower is possible, but the coverage is only 10 percent and most of us will dodge it.

The big weather story today is the cool temperature trend.  Our highs will run 10 degrees cooler than normal.  Pair today's upper 70s with breezy north winds and it will certainly feel like Fall.  Partly to mostly sunny skies are expected through most of the day with a clearing trend by sunset.

The cooler air will set up morning lows in the 50s for Wednesday morning.  Certainly a very comfortable (and maybe a little too cool) morning for North Texans, however the air will modify pretty quickly with afternoon highs returning to 80s Wednesday afternoon with highs pressing the 90 degree mark for the end of the work week.  Another cold front comes through dry Friday night to set up our third weekend in-a-row with a feel of Fall.  Our forecast highs in the low 80s account for more sunshine expected this weekend thanks to drier air over North Texas.  However, more cloud cover could mean highs in the upper 70s.
