Armed robbery spree overnight in Bucktown, Logan Square, and West Town
At least five armed robberies were reported between 11 p.m. Tuesday and 1:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Bucktown, Logan Square, and West Town neighborhoods.

At least five armed robberies were reported between 11 p.m. Tuesday and 1:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Bucktown, Logan Square, and West Town neighborhoods.
Lynn Resendez, 41, is charged with one count each of attempted murder, aggravated assault of a police officer, and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.
"Just tired of it. I'm just trying to make a living," owner Darris Kelly said. "I'm really going to have to think if I want to open back up. It's just like, how many times can you get hit?"
Police said five to six people crashed a pickup truck and a Dodge Charger into a building in the 700 block of North Franklin Street.
The incident comes amid a rise in anti-Muslim and antisemitic hate crimes in Illinois in the wake of the war between Israel and Hamas.
"Our children are in crisis, and we need to act," Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul said.
West Dundee Mayor Chris Nelson said the village is buying the struggling mall to turn it into a mixed-use area featuring retail, residential, and entertainment spaces.
Some students will be given acceptance letters and financial aid offers on the spot.
There were dueling rallies in Skokie Sunday, with one showing solidarity with Israel and another protesting the country's actions in Gaza.
Harry spent 51 years on television in Chicago, including nearly 30 years at CBS 2 before retiring in 2015.
"Hate has no home here in Illinois. It's a phrase I've used time and time again, but hate always has an insidious way of trying to move in," Gov. JB Pritzker said.
Police said the bus was headed north on Ashland Avenue around 12:30 p.m., when another vehicle swerved into its lane, and the bus crashed into a light pole.
