Rashad Williams

Rashad Williams joined CBS News Atlanta in March 2026. A two-time Emmy Award winner, he earned one of those honors for Best Live Reporter in the Southeast Emmy chapter.

A Cartersville native and graduate of Cass High School, Rashad is proud to tell impactful stories in his home market while giving back to the community that helped shape him. He believes storytelling has the power to create change, provide critical insight, save lives, and amplify voices that might otherwise go unheard.

Before joining CBS News Atlanta, Rashad worked at WYFF in Greenville, South Carolina, where he anchored the weekday 4 p.m. newscast alongside broadcast veteran and former "CBS This Morning" anchor Jane Robelot, whom he credits as a major influence on his career. During his four years in Greenville, he led on-the-ground coverage of major news events, including the deadly Apalachee High School shooting, the Georgia Guidestones explosion, Hurricane Helene's impact across South Carolina and western North Carolina, and the shooting at Tanglewood Middle School.

He also covered presidential campaign stops, conducted one-on-one interviews with presidential candidates, and secured an exclusive interview with a close friend of OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush, one of five people who died aboard the Titan submersible. Rashad's reporting has also helped connect living organ donors with recipients, contributing to life-saving transplants.

Prior to Greenville, Rashad spent several years at WAOW in Wausau, Wisconsin, where he worked as a multimedia journalist, weekend anchor, and producer. There, he covered a wide range of stories, including record-breaking snowfall, the 2019 polar vortex, presidential visits, and the kidnapping of Jayme Closs. Throughout his career, Rashad has received numerous honors for journalistic excellence from the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association and the South Carolina Broadcasters Association.

A former multiple-time GHSA wrestling state placer and NCAA Division II wrestler, Rashad graduated from Coker University in Hartsville, South Carolina, with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications.

When he's not working, Rashad enjoys exercising, traveling, cooking, and spending time with family. If you can't find him, he's probably watching college sports, the Olympics, or professional wrestling from the 1990s and early 2000s.
