The FBI said they are investigating a suspect with a possible connection to a fatal shooting of a federal security officer and an alleged "ambush" killing of a sheriff's deputy in Northern California.
The curfew was initially scheduled to end at 5 a.m. Monday, when the city begins to reopen after the coronavirus shutdown.
The statement comes amid nationwide protests over the death of George Floyd, but also years of controversy when the NFL refused to support Colin Kaepernick and other players who knelt in protest over police brutality.
One of Floyd's uncles, Isaac Floyd, sang an emotional "I won't complain" at the service.

Charges included burglary, arson, aggravated assault, rioting, looting, defacing public property and violating curfew.
The curfew will be in effect from 11 p.m. Monday night until 5 a.m. Tuesday morning.
Cuomo warned New Yorkers gathering in ongoing protests that "we don't know the consequences of the COVID virus in mass gatherings."
"This is the same city that George Floyd grew up in, and his body will be returning to this city," Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner said.
George Floyd's death in police custody has roiled not just Minneapolis but the nation, sparking days of protests.
The New York governor repeated what he announced Saturday, that Attorney General Letitia James would be overseeing an investigation into police behavior.
Police officers forced him to the ground as they arrested him, according to video of the arrest taken by the station.
Earlier Saturday, Angela Merkel said she "cannot confirm" she would be attending amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The Facebook founder said he has a "visceral negative reaction to this kind of divisive and inflammatory rhetoric."
