Alex Sanz is a veteran journalist and the managing editor of CBS News Atlanta. He works closely with journalists across the newsroom to deliver original reporting and compelling, high-impact storytelling across broadcast, digital and streaming platforms.
Most recently, Sanz was the deputy managing editor and politics director at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, overseeing a major expansion of its politics franchise.
He joined the AJC and Cox Enterprises after working for more than a decade in various roles at The Associated Press, including as global news manager, overseeing the news report in all formats and platforms, and deputy director of newsgathering.
Earlier in his career, Sanz worked in television newsrooms across the United States as a reporter, correspondent and anchor.
He is a fellow at the Media Transformation Challenge at The Poynter Institute for Media Studies and is on the Board of Governors of the Southeast Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
