Trump says Iran is likely behind oil plant attack

President Trump on Monday said Iran is most likely to blame for a series of airstrikes that crippled a major Saudi Arabian oil plant over the weekend. Damage from the attacks cut Saudi Arabia's oil production capacity in half and could cause global gas prices to skyrocket. Mr. Trump added that while he does not want to start a war with Tehran, the U.S. military is well prepared to respond if necessary. Trump mulls options after Saudi Arabia attack

Iran is sending a new warning to Saudi Arabia and the U.S. not to retaliate for the attack that heavily damaged two Saudi oil facilities. Iran's president says that Saudi Arabia should see the attack as a warning to end its war in Yemen. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and the Saudi foreign minister are expected to make a statement on Wednesday directly blaming Iran for the strikes – but President Trump has not yet said how the U.S. will respond. David Martin reports.
