ICE rolls out new guidelines for deportations

The Biden administration issued new guidance Thursday instructing deportation agents to focus on apprehending recent border-crossers and immigrants determined to threaten national security and public safety, and requiring them to seek supervisory approval for other arrests. Bill aims to provide Dreamers with a pathway to citizenship

President Biden has made it clear that immigration reform is one of the top priorities of his administration. Now, he is getting some help from the Senate. Democratic Senator Dick Durbin and Republican Senator Lindsey Graham introduced a bipartisan bill that would provide a pathway to citizenship for the so-called Dreamers, undocumented immigrants brought to the U.S. as children. Immigration attorney Alex Ozols discusses who would qualify under the proposal and what could happen if it doesn't pass.

Biden's executive orders on immigration

President Biden has signed executive orders aimed at undoing his predecessor's policies on immigration. They will set up a task force for separated families, look to reshape U.S. border and asylum policies, and review restrictions made to the legal immigration system over the past four years.
