A deadly fire broke out on a rooftop restaurant in Mumbai, India. Firefighters spent hours working to put out the flames, which claimed the lives of at least 14 people.

At least 12 people are dead, including a 1-year-old baby, in a fire Thursday night in an apartment building in New York City, Mayor Bill de Blasio said. "This is the worst fire tragedy we have seen in this city in at least a quarter century," de Blasio said in a press conference after the fire.

Wildfires in Southern California were being powered Tuesday night by very strong Santa Ana winds, gusting as high as 80 miles per hour. The fires -- in Los Angeles and Ventura counties -- have already burned more than 47,000 acres. More than 27,000 people have been evacuated, and more than 3,500 firefighters are on the job. Jamie Yuccas reports.
