The New Hampshire primary brought to the surface issues that divided Democratic voters – often pitting Sanders on one side against Buttigieg and Klobuchar on the other.
The Minnesota senator came from behind to finish strong in the Granite State.
"CBS Evening News" anchor Norah O'Donnell spoke to both candidates ahead of the primary.
With 42% of New Hampshire voters undeclared, the state could emerge as a key battleground in November.
Pete Buttigieg and Bernie Sanders both topped the Democratic field in the Iowa caucuses with 100% of precincts reporting.
"I think we will have a terrific turnout," said New Hampshire Democratic chair Ray Buckley. "It will certainly be higher than any other state in the entire nominating process. But there's no indication we'll match or be near 2008."
Biden said he is confident in how he is doing in New Hampshire and nationally.
According to estimates from the Iowa Democratic Party and CBS News, Buttigieg received 14 delegates, Sanders 12, Warren 8, Biden 6 and Klobuchar 1.
Sanders said President Trump and Leader Mitch McConnell were "ready to go on day one" with Federalist Society-approved "right-wing" judges.
The former South Bend mayor defended himself against criticism from Sanders over donors to his campaign.
The primary race in New Hampshire remains fluid before voters go to the polls Tuesday. Only 39% of likely voters say they've definitely made up their minds.
Sanders said Buttigieg's roster of donors is "precisely the problem with American politics."
