The Pittsburgh Steelers aren't the same on defense like they have been for years, but the offense is very dangerous still. Despite a 28-21 loss in Week 1 to the New England Patriots on the road, the Steelers will be a tough opponent for the 49ers in Week 2. First, Pittsburgh has had some extra rest and time to prepare, while San Francisco will be a day short on both. Second, the Steelers have enough weapons on offense to really challenge a depleted 49ers defense. Finally, it's never easy to steal a win in Pittsburgh.

Every NFL team should start the season this healthy: The San Francisco 49ers have one injury concern heading into the regular-season opener on Monday night against the Minnesota Vikings at Levi's Stadium. Cornerback Tramaine Brock—nominally the team's No. 1 corner in what is an otherwise weak secondary—has a hamstring issue, and he is listed as questionable for the game. The Niners front seven will look very strange to fans of the team, in terms of personnel changes, so Brock's presence in the defensive backfield is a big one for San Francisco.
After almost-unmatched success during the first three years of former coach Jim Harbaugh's tenure in San Francisco, the 49ers crashed a bit last year, finishing 8-8. Now, with Harbaugh gone, the season ahead has many questions. The 49ers roster has lost much talent, especially on the defensive side of the ball, and there are questions about the future of the franchise as new coach Jim Tomsula faces a tough season ahead. Super Bowl 50 will be at Levi's Stadium, but San Francisco is a serious long shot to be playing in the game itself.
The San Francisco 49ers open their 2015 campaign on Monday Night Football, hosting the second game of a doubleheader on ESPN. The Minnesota Vikings come to Levi's Stadium for the matchup, led by an exciting young quarterback and a veteran running back with something to prove after a lost 2014 season.
Jarryd Hayne joined the San Francisco 49ers this past spring with a daunting task of making the transition from rugby league star back home in Australia to NFL newcomer across the world.
