The Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins are tied for second place in the AFC East with identical 5-4 records, and this Thursday night game is going to say a lot for what their postseason future may hold. Ian Eagle of CBS Sports took some time to talk about the big game and how it could affect the rest of the season for both teams. Let's just say, this is a must-win for both the Bills and Dolphins.
The San Diego Chargers have lost three straight games, the last two by whopping margins. Does this mean the winless Oakland Raiders have a chance to beat them? The Silver & Black came close in the teams' first matchup in Oakland, but this Week 11 contest will be in San Diego. There are always a lot of Raiders fans in San Diego, though, so maybe this is Oakland's chance to get into the win column and avoid a 16-game losing streak.
Week 10 of the 2014 NFL regular season has a lot of big games on the schedule and that includes two big AFC contests that include match-ups between potential playoff teams. Steve Tasker of CBS Sports took some time to discuss the "Thursday Night Football" game between the Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals and then a Sunday match-up between the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs.
The Oakland Raiders have a new head coach, for now, and they've just had their bye week. How will they fare against the 4-1 San Diego Chargers at home this week? Well, the Bolts are on a roll, and they look very good. The exact opposite can be said of Silver & Black, so don't expect things to suddenly get better for Oakland now that Dennis Allen has been fired.
There are two things going for the Oakland Raiders this week, as they prepare for their Week Four game in London, England: first, they play the Miami Dolphins, and second, the game is at a neutral site. The Silver & Black can beat the Dolphins, and they won't have the pressure of performing in front of a home crowd.
Diehard fans may want to close their eyes: with an 0-2 start and staring at possible 0-6 start now, the Oakland Raiders will be hard-pressed to avoid two ugly fates in 2014: they could end up worse than the 4-12 record they posted last year, and they could end up as the worst team in the NFL.
The San Francisco 49ers won their first game of the 2014 season, but they didn't generate enough offense consistently on their own. Gifted four turnovers by the Dallas Cowboys, the 49ers didn't score at all in the second half of the game. They'll need to make sure they create their own opportunities in Week Two against the Chicago Bears at the Levi's Stadium opener.
