Police: High School Football Game Called Off In Stockton After Rumors Of Violence In Stands

STOCKTON (CBS13) — Rumors of violence lead to a football game being called off early, Stockton Police said on Friday.

The game between Lincoln High School and Stagg Senior High School was called off after rumors of a fight and someone with a gun swirled in the stands.

Police said there was no evidence of actual incidents at the game, and that fans calmly left the stadium after police arrived.

Saturday, police said that it was fireworks - not bullets - that had went off.

Lincoln was leading 29-0 at the half and went on to win the game.
